SCBA Fire-fighting Systems |
|
Scott AirPak Fifty |
The SCBA of choice for firefighting services. Lightweight, comfortable and ideal for use during intense, physically demanding work like firefighting and industrial jobs. Features lightweight one-piece backframe made of durable aluminum alloy. Comfortable backframe follows the back's contour and places the bulk of the SCBA's weight on the wearer's hips, where padded, wide-bodied wings help reduce fatigue and enable freedom of movement. Belt-mounted regulator holder gives user a secure, convenient place to store and keep regulator clean. Components interchangeable with other Scott supplied-air and air-purifying respirators. These components include the E-Z Flo pressure-demand regulator, an air saver switch, and the AV-2000 facepiece with dual voicemitters. System features include: Advanced Harness System. SCBA is secured to the backframe by harness straps, which are woven through the backframe. Harness connections feature strong box stitching, which helps reduce wear and minimizes maintenance. Wide-bodied pads distribute weight evenly around the shoulders and hips, providing load balance. Reflective front patches make user more visible at night. Oversized, parachute-style harness fasteners allow quick take-up and release, even with gloved hands. One-finger release disengages the waist belt buckle. Fasteners hold shoulder straps secure and minimize wear and tear on the harness. Easy Cylinder Changes. The cylinder retention system permits fast, efficient changes through a double-locking latch and durable Kevlar fabric band. Simple adjustment of a cam-over-center slide accommodates cylinders with a duration of 30, 45, or 60 minutes. Cylinders are further secured through a self-guided housing that retains the cylinder hanger bracket; the pressure reducer's adjustable mounting system enables easy coupling of the high pressure hose. Available in high (4500psi) or low pressure (2216psi) models. The low pressure models are available only in 30-minute durations. Increased Cylinder Types. Choose from the latest in cylinder materials, including lightweight Kevlar, or the lightest cylinder availablecarbon-fiber. Kevlar-wrapped cylinders are durable: The Department of Transportation rates this type of cylinder at a service life of 15 years, with mandatory hydrostatic testing only every three years. Carbon-fiber cylinders boast the lightest weight construction and greatest strength available in contemporary cylinder technology. Carbon provides a superior strength-to-weight ratio when compared with older cylinder technologies like standard fiber glass or aluminum. The carbon-fiber cylinder's liner is coated with aluminum oxide to protect against corrosion. Note: The 2216psi model is not available in Kevlar; choose either 30-minute carbon, featherweight fiber glass composite or aluminum. Advanced Safety Features. The Air-Pak Fifty incorporates dual pressure reducers connected to one another with an automatic transfer valve. If primary pressure drops, the secondary circuit is automatically activated. Helpful in high noise situations, the Vibralert offers both audible and tactile alarms that alert the user to low air supply and reducer changeover. Also features the Pak-Alert SE distress alarm, which is designed to assist in locating incapacitated or trapped SCBA users. The Pak-Alert features a flashing red LED and twin audible sounders. Additional Options. Most models are available with Life-Link, an Emergency Breathing Support System (EBSS) that permits two users to share a common air supply during emergencies. Life-Link features a tactile, quick-connect coupling on the regulator supply line. Or choose only the quick-connect regulator. Molded case can be ordered for all carbon-cylinder models. Note: Models do not include case unless specifically ordered with case. |

Lightweight Carbon Cylinder. Carbon-fiber cylinders are the latest innovation in Scott cylinder technology. Combining superior strength with light weight, carbon-fiber cylinders are ideal for firefighters who can't afford weight-related fatigue. Constructed from a thin aluminum alloy liner, the cylinder is overwrapped entirely with carbon-fiber composites and has a fiberglass-epoxy resin outerwrap. This efficient and lightweight wrapping results in the lightest cylinder available. To protect against moisture and corrosion, the cylinder's liner is coated with aluminum oxide. |

AV 2000 Facepiece |
Ideal for firefighting, industrial, and Haz Mat service. Available in three color-coded sizesgreen (small), black (standard), red (extra-large)to effectively fit those with different facial configurations and ensure compliance with OSHA's fit-test programs (1910.134) and substance-specific standards such as asbestos (1910.1001), benzene (1910.1028), formaldehyde (1910.1048), and other hazards. Configuration of cone-shaped lens provides widest possible field of vision and helps reduce carbon dioxide buildup. Easily disassembled for cleaning and inspection, the AV-2000 facepiece also features a comfortable, easy-to-remove nose cup; mesh head harness for quick donning with virtually no headgear interference; dual high performance voicemitters for clear communication in all directions; set-and-forget temple straps for excellent facepiece-to-face seal; and a broad face seal area that accommodates a wide range of facial variances. The voicemitters, voicemitter ducts, and nose cup can all be removed without tools; field replacement of the lens does not require special tools. With the use of the appropriate adapter, 42CFR Part 84 cartridges and canister can be used. NIOSH approved. |

Microprocessor-based detection system for use with Air-Pak 2.2, 4.5, and Air-Pak Fifty SCBAs. Ideal for firefighting, search and rescue missions, confined space entry, Haz Mat operations, and firefighters' training exercises. Distress alarm monitors movement of the SCBAand therefore the userby means of a detector with an infrared light pulse. Automatic and manual operating systems help locate unconscious or incapacitated users who are unable to call for assistance and users who become lost or disoriented in smoke-filled structures. Integration with the SCBA's air circuit permits automatic protection as soon as the cylinder valve is opened, eliminating the need for a separate pass device or similar equipment. Full Alarm mode may be activated manuallyeven before the cylinder valve is opened. Advanced sensor technology virtually eliminates distracting false alarms. Hands-free Reset. Virtually any movement by a firefighter at rest, from a simple shoulder shrug to shifting weight from one foot to the other, cancels the Pre-alarm modewithout the need to manually depress the RESET button. Dual Audible and Visual Alarms. Audible signal is a shrill, high pitched tone in a pattern designed to be readily distinguished from background noise. The distinctive pattern consists of an almost continuous 3-tone chirp emitted from dual sounders on opposite ends of the system's sensor module assembly. Should one sounder become submerged or blocked, the audible alarm will continue from the second. Visual alarms consist of flashing LED's on the control console, which is on the user's right shoulder harness. Both audible and visual alarms are battery powered and operate independently of the air circuit so that, even after a cylinder's air is exhausted, alarms continue to function for more than five hours after motion ceases. Manual Alarm Protection. Though recessed to prevent accidental pressing, color-coded pushbuttons are easily accessed with gloved hands. Battery requirements: two 9V alkaline batteries. To maintain ETL compliance, use only Eveready No. 522 or EN22, or Duracell No. PC1604 or MN1604. Approximate length of service in Automatic mode with fresh batteries: 1000 hours of continuous service. In Full Alarm mode: over five hours. Weight of Pak-Alert SE with batteries: 1 7/8 lb. (0.86kg). Rated intrinsically safe per ANSI/UL913 for use in Class 1, Division 1, Groups A, B, C, and D hazardous environments. Certified to CAN/CSA STD.C22.2 No. 157-92. May be field-installed in Air-Pak 2.2, 3.0, and 4.5 SCBAs. NFPA-1982 (1998). |
